The European Commission, the Council and the European Parliament are currently discussing about the Aid Budget for the 2015. In particular, NGOs denounced the fact that the main EU-funded projects for development are at risk if the Institutions shall not respect the promises they made. The impasse is due, as in the previous approval of the budget for 2014, to the conflict between the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council. Indeed, the European Parliament increased the Commission proposal up to 146 million euro, even with the unfavourable opinion of the Council. NGOs are calling for a more clear commitment of the Institutions in order to respect the target of spending the 0.7% of the gross GDP by the member states. It is clear that the cut in the budget in relation to aid projects shall not represent the cost reduction some of the member states are looking at.
