Faran Shoaib Naru

Research Associate

Since June 2016, Mr. Faran Shoaib Naru has been a Research Associate at gLAWcal– Global Law Initiatives for Sustainable Development (United Kingdom) Mr. Naru is a PhD Candidate at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. His research is focused on the evolution of global commodity trade as China moves from low to high tech production.

Since June 2016, Mr. Faran Shoaib Naru has been a Research Associate at gLAWcal– Global Law Initiatives for Sustainable Development (United Kingdom) Mr. Naru is a PhD Candidate at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. His research is focused on the evolution of global commodity trade as China moves from low to high tech production. He has also collaborated with Beijing University’s National School of Development to understand the application of new structural economics to developing countries. In 2010, Mr. Naru obtained a Master Degree in Public Policy (MPP) from Brown University, United States. After that he worked for United Nations Development Program (UNDP), UN Women, and Asian Development Bank (ADB) as consultant, primarily supporting the provincial government of Punjab in Pakistan. Prior to MPP, he obtained his MBA degree in 2005 and worked in the corporate sector of Pakistan for few years. Mr. Naru speaks Urdu, Punjabi, English and Chinese.
